	Tavistock Camera Club Awarded Lottery Funding The members of Tavistock Camera Club are celebrating after receiving a grant of £4,650 from the National Lottery Awards for All programme. The grant will enable the club to purchase up-to-date equipment, moving it to the forefront of the digital age. A camera, projector, laptop computer and screen will allow members and visiting speakers to present work straight from camera, disc, flash drive or media card. Club chairman, Keith Urro, said, "For a club such as ours this is a large amount of money. It will not only allow access to digital images and presentations, but will also permit members and visiting instructors to show in real time how images may be improved and printed using computer software. We also plan to take digital slide shows into the community. For example, the club has been asked to contribute a visual presentation as part of the forthcoming celebrations to mark the anniversary of the granting of the Market Charter to Tavistock." Using the new equipment, the club will run a course, starting in January 2005, led by Keith and entitled "An Introduction to Digital and Film Photography". This will be open to members of the general community as well as club members.
